Senior Mining Engineer (Ambrosio)

About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join Iluka’s Technical Services team, based at our Jacinth-Ambrosia operation.

The Jacinth-Ambrosia mine is located in South Australia on the far-west coast approximately 280 kilometres north-west of Ceduna by road. This is a site based permanent FIFO role comprising an 8 days on/ 6 days off roster (changing on Tuesdays), with travel from either Adelaide or Ceduna provided.

Key elements of the role include:
- Provide specialist technical support to our operational teams.- Contribute to and drive optimal mining and processing activities site wide.- Supervise, lead and mentor a team of mining engineers and earthmoving supervisors.- Ensure all mine planning and design outputs are delivered on time and to a high standard.- Provide expertise, coordination and management in the development and communication of all short and medium-term (up to two years) plans, schedules and forecasts for the operations to enable the effective completion of production, tailings and rehabilitation activities.- Highlight key activities and critical path processes of budgets, forecasts and weekly plans.- Provide input to Life of Mine plan and mine optimisation updates.

About You

To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a Mining Engineering or related technical discipline.- A broad mining engineering skillset (planning, operations support & field problem solving). Experience in mineral sands is advantageous.- Experience leading a technical team on operational mine site(s).- Demonstrated experience developing short to medium term mine plans.- Highly competent in mine design and scheduling software. Experience with Deswik.CAD and Deswik.Sched is advantageous.- Self-motivated and high level of attention to detail.- Proven ability to analyse complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and communicate them effectively to relevant stakeholders.- Proactive approach to health, safety, environment, social responsibility and sustainable development.- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.- Current driver’s licence.
