About Jacinth-Ambrosia Jacinth-Ambrosia (JA) is located 270 kilometres north of the Port of Thevenard, near Ceduna. It is the world’s largest source of zircon, and a Tier 1 deposit with extensive reserves. It is the first mining development in a mixed-use regional reserve
- the Yellabina Regional Reserve
- in South Australia, with the operation demonstrating a commitment to high environmental standards and progressive land rehabilitation. Jacinth-Ambrosia site has a fully equipped modern camp with facilities including a gym, pool, sports courts, recreation rooms, Wi-Fi and Foxtel.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and organised Indigenous Liaison Officer to join our team at Jacinth-Ambrosia.

The role is focused on supporting and assisting Indigenous personnel in the workplace at JA. It includes the following responsibilities:
- Liaising with members of the Far West Coast Aboriginal Corporation (FWCAC) on all matters relating to the Iluka/FWC Native Title Mining Agreement (NTMA)- Ensuring compliance by Iluka Resources and the FWCAC in all aspects of the NTMA and implement key non-royalty commitments including:

- Indigenous recruitment and employment pathways
- Indigenous business development
- Iluka FWC Student scholarship program- Coordinating Cultural Awareness Training- Planning Liaison Committee meetings, preparing agendas, and Iluka reports for the FWCAC committee members, and issuing meeting minutes- Coordinating attendance of key Iluka personnel at Liaison Committee meetings- Implement the FWC Education, Training and Employment program- Support the maximisation of vocational education, training, and employment opportunities for members of the FWC traditional owner groups in relation to the construction, operation and closure of operations- Assist the operation (Iluka and major contractors) in cooperating and working together with the FWCAC to achieve a target of >20% FWC member employment- Develop and implement procedures and coordinate and facilitate programs to support current Indigenous employees, and Indigenous job seekers- Support the implementation of appropriately structured training and skills development programs- Support structured, on the job training, and facilitate education initiatives for members of the FWC community to maximize employment pathways at J-A- Ensure that appropriate Indigenous onboarding programs are developed and implemented- Ensure the Iluka Recruitment, Training and Mentoring protocols are adhered to at all times by all parties (Iluka and major contractors)

About You- Strong verbal and written communication skills- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills to mentor, guide, and motivate staff, and consult with and influence peers and a broad range of service providers, including local employment groups, training providers, local families, and community stakeholders- Strong community consultation skills- Ability to elicit cooperation from all levels of the organisation- Effective time management, reporting, and presentation skills- Conflict resolution skills, mainly internally to the company in dealings with other functional areas- Ability to plan and conduct group meetings and effectively disseminate internal and external information- Communicate and influence supervisors and managers in community relations values and programs- Ability to lead, motivate, and engage personnel

Essential qualifications & experience include the following:
- Thorough knowledge and experience of Aboriginal heritage and native title issues in South Australia, with the ability to provide advice and guidance on such matters- A strong background and understanding of working with Aboriginal people and communities, especially in remote locations or in areas of competing interests- Strong background in the development and implementation of Indigenous training and education, with an employment outcome focus- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
