DevOps Automation Engineer (Vereda Palenque)

Role Overview: We are looking for a DevOps Automation Engineer to join the engineering operations team of a technology company. The role focuses on infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD automation, and secure deployment processes across AWS environments. You will work closely with engineering and operations teams to standardize deployments, automate cloud provisioning, and support production environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation and Packer.
- Manage configuration and provisioning using Chef (bonus: Terraform, Ansible).
- Build automation scripts—preferably in Python—to streamline operational workflows.
- Implement and follow DevSecOps standards (SOC2, PCI, etc.) within deployment pipelines.
- Manage and integrate tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, AWS.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support software delivery and database schema changes.
- Support AWS database services (Aurora/RDS/MySQL) as a plus.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable operations.
- Document processes, standards, and playbooks for internal knowledge sharing.

Requirements:
- 5+ years in DevOps / SRE / Cloud Infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS CloudFormation (mandatory).
- Scripting proficiency (preferably Python).
- Experience with Chef or similar configuration management tools.
- Experience building and operating Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with security/compliance practices (SOC2, PCI, etc.).
- Experience with Git-based SCM tools (Bitbucket/Git), Jira, Confluence.
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken) B2+ / C1 MANDATORY.
- Previous experience working remotely with US-based teams.

About the Position:
· Full-time 100% remote role. Contractor Mode.
· Work schedule: Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (US Eastern Time).
