Forklift Loader Blend Line-Second Shift (Soledad-VAP) Title: Forklift Loader Blend Line Salary Range: $***** Hourly Status: Non Exempt Days/Shifts: 2nd Shift Location: Soledad, CA Reports to: Materials Manager General Description / Primary Purpose Operate forklift in a safe and responsible manner inside warehouses and receiving yards.
Load & unload vans and flatbeds, issue packaging & raw products to production while following FIFO rules and maintaining trace documentation.
Major Responsibilities and Tasks / Duties of the Position Drive and operate forklift safely.
Prior experience in loading and unloading of trailers.
Pass company written and practical forklift operator test.
Complete trailer inspections for inbound and outbound deliveries.
Verify and document incoming deliveries to ensure accuracy.
Operate dock door controls, ramp, and safely secure trailers in docks with appropriate locks.
Inspect and document arriving loads for seal integrity, possible contaminants, damage & temperature.
Load & unload vans and flatbeds.
Issue and return packaging & raw products to production while following FIFO rules.
Use company trace and tracking forms & scanners to maintain traceback of materials issued and returned.
Work around equipment and machinery.
Adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP's related to producing Safe Quality Food (SQF).
Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of management.
Job Specific Competencies Work well in a fast‐paced production environment.
Previous forklift experience preferred.
Physical Requirements Work performed in an exterior environment exposed to cold and heat, may also be inside plant with average temperature 34°F.
Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia present.
Work surfaces and floors wet.
Employees required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment.
Must lift up to 50 lbs unassisted up to half of the workday, and 20 lbs overhead as job demands.
Sitting in forklift for major portion of the workday.
Walking, standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required.
Work Hours & Travel Requirements 2nd Shift Experience and Education High School Diploma or GED required.
