Plant Manager (La Vega)

Position: United States based corporation seeking a dynamic Plant Manager to join the manufacturing team at its related party manufacturing plant in La Vega, Dominican Republic. You will have complete accountability for our overall manufacturing organization, manufacturing support, process improvement and quality. This role reports to the Director.

Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes and directs the manufacturing operations which ensure the most effective return on assets in a quick turn manufacturing environment.
- Initiates plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
- Assures attainment of business objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations.
- Implements manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports the company’s strategic initiatives.
- Establishes group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need.
- Encourages use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving.
- Improves manpower utilization within existing departments and processes. Schedule stability that allows for maximum return on productivity.
- Manages spending against budget, controlling spending in relation to changes in production volume.
- Assures that employee relations issues are effectively administered and that employee grievances are addressed in a timely fashion.
- Works to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees’ positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action.
- Continually improves safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.
